With the New Year upon us and change all around us, it had me thinking about fear. How it creeps up on us. I think it’s the root of so many issues for us. When a lot of change happens, I know my own feelings of fear and anxiety always come to the surface. I have learned to recognize the feelings and ask myself if it is fear-based reasoning that has me acting in a certain way. Have you found yourself in the same pattern?
Lately I’ve had a bit of pain in lower back and I’ve heard from several of my friends having the same issue. The back, knees and feet are all governed by the Root Chakra. As we are making changes in our lives it is easy for us to become imbalanced in this area of the body. The root chakra governs your sense of stability, safety, security and right to be here. Many times when we are making life changes we can feel a bit unstable—uncertainty starts to creep in. We become ungrounded. If you’ve been feeling this way, as I suspect many are with all the changes occurring, try finding some outlets to help ground you. I recommend trying a short grounding or chakra balancing meditation.
I wrote this message in my journal over the summer about fear,
Oh, how far I could have gone if fear had not consumed me at times. Most often I was completely unaware I was caught up in its grip. I thought I was just being safe, cautious, reasonable. But really I feared. Yet, I know this is the way of it. It’s the path. It’s in those times of doubt and fear that I did grow. Because I didn’t stay in those places so long. I chose to move along on the road. I might not know exactly when it happened, but somehow, someway, I found myself along a different road and I didn’t let my fear (of the unknown) get the best of me.
I have learned to be more gentle with myself and to let go of saying could have, should have. The truth is, yes, I could have done many other things differently and yet I know I am exactly where I need to be right now in this moment. When you talk to yourself, please do so gently and with care. If you would not talk to your best friend as you would yourself with your inner dialogue, then try not to use those words. I have found listening to positive affirmations in the morning for a few minutes helps me immensely. (If you have Amazon prime, there are lots of free affirmations on there).
I asked the angels to help us with a positive message about fear and this is the response I received from Archangel Ariel:
Always remember that you are not alone. That you are so much more than you think you are. That we are always here for you, though you might not see or hear us and we are rooting you on. We want to illuminate the way for you, so you don’t feel yourself surrounded in darkness. Reach out a helping hand to others, as you would like to be done to you. And spread joy, love and kindness into the world for this is what will give you wings to grow. You are never stuck where you are. It’s just a temporary state.
Love one another, just as I have loved you. – John 15:12
